Financial assistance is being provided to women's SHGs in the form of micro finance. Micro finance is emerging as a powerful instrument for poverty alleviation in the new economy. In India, micro finance scene is dominated by SHGs. With the help of micro finance the Self Help Group in India emerged as a popular strategy for the facilitation of micro-enterprise development by government, non-government organizations and educational institutes in rural areas of India.
